Taberna El Panduro – Gourmet Tapas
This gem of a tapas bar has been open less than a year and is already attracting lots of interest from the city’s food connoisseurs. Three friends opened this taberna with a vision to provide more gourmet tapas alongside fine wines, and all at incredibly reasonable prices. The setup is friendly, modern, and sleek, and the busy tables most evenings are a testament to the hard work the owners have put in to get this just right.
Up there with the best food SBT has tasted in Seville, genuine camareros, fine wine, and in a relaxed setting
The menu is varied and exciting, and offers something for every palate. Meat lovers need to look no further than the Solomillo de Buey, an extraordinarily delicious beef cut from Asturias (the tastiest beef this author has ever tasted!). More meat? Easy! the Pluma Iberica accompanied with breadcrumbs, pancetta and chorizo is fantastic. For sea lovers the Tataki de Atun was particularly special – beautifully undercooked tuna slabs in a unique two-sided sauce makes this dish an absolute must. And to finish try the fragrant gambas accompanied by a rich gazpacho which combine to provide a traditional slice of the Spanish seaside.
To add to the culinary experience, the wine list is excellent – do not hesitate to ask Pepe for his advice, and you can trust that he will give his honest and expert opinion. The wine list changes at will, and exclusively charts Spanish wines. How to make this place better we hear you cry… €1 Alhambra beer on tap! Unbelievable!
This place is perfect for a date, however just as easily enjoyed with friends. Up there with the best food SBT has tasted in Seville, genuine camareros, fine wine, and in a relaxed setting. El Panduro is our top choice spot for 2012.
