Hotel Bar Doña Maria – Exquisite roof terrace
With unparalleled views over the stunning giralda and cathedral building, this astonishing hotel roof terrace provides a welcome break from the sweaty turmoil of the streets. It is best to stealthily pass the reception as they sometimes claim that the terrace is full, but do make sure you arrive early enough to claim one of the much sought after tables. Just cross the reception area and head for the ascensor at the back left corner. Once at the top, the view is breathtaking, particularly at night when the Sevillian lighting maestro has once again performed his magic on what is the largest gothic cathedral in the world. Gaze up at the beautiful tower, whilst the breeze will ensure even the most sweltering of African heat becomes bearable.
The prices are of course somewhat raised, so don’t order (as I did yesterday) expecting the €1.25 beer copas because you will be disappointed. That said the €4.50 beer probably is the cheapest thing on the menu, and I still believe worth the money. If your looking to impress, or just wanting something a bit different from the street stall style drinking, this is your place.
Where? Calle Don Remondo, 19
