Enter Fabrik Madrid – A step out from Ibiza

As the long haul Ibiza summer draws to a blissful climax, many bewildered island devotees will be left wondering where to go next. For those with any doubts about where to pick up the trail of revelry left by our beloved house and techno flag bearers, Madrid proudly steps up as a strong reminder that if anything the party stays in Spain.

Madrid proudly steps up as a strong reminder that if anything the party stays in Spain

Fabrik (now ranked 4th best club in the world) offers a reassuring alternative to big players like Amnesia with the sound system, size and ice blasters to match. Be sure to visit if in need of a mid-winter relapse of mayhem.

We were lucky enough to stop by for Richie Hawtin’s first step from Eivissa with his newly polished “Enter”; a fast established top night on the Balearic calendar. Needless to say, Richie came arm in arm with the best possible team of buddies to cater for the Madrileños insatiable thirst for techno.

With a line up boasting Loco Dice, Paco Osuna, Tini v’s Enzo Siragusa, Nick Curly, Premiesku and Matador, the mood was high and the crowd hanging on the edge of every beat dropped.

The cheeky Tini up against Enzo, played their corners with a fiery selection of punchy grooves in their signature B2B warm up for what was promising to be a beautiful night. Meanwhile Paco’s first of two fantastic sets was full of well thought out, pulsing techno that both engaged and captured the eager ears of the ravers.

Perhaps the highlight was Matadors surprising 1 hour live set; a twisted energy fuelled voyage from the forest and a great platform for Loco Dice to cruise in and smash the penultimate spot. Enter 2-hours of serious Desolat bangers and a fine selection of bombs that primed the crowd for the finale.

Wrapping things up from 5 – 7 Richie’s elegant manipulation of the beeps and bops showed as always why he is master of his game. His ability to lead the crowd on a journey that at times touched on spiritual never fails to impress.

Madrid’s Fabrik is fortunate to now have “Enter” on it’s tick list and we can certainly sleep a little sounder after what was a well-needed summer rebound.
