Barceló Hotel – A mid-range extravagance

Trendy bar/restaurant with random horse statues and space-age décor? Tick.

The definition of a super king sized bed with sexy fluorescent down lighting to set the mood? Tick.

Spectacular bedroom views high over the city? Tick.

Roof top bar and pool with 360-degree views? Tick.

A bedside ipod station with decent bass? Tick.

The definition of a super king sized bed with sexy fluorescent down lighting to set the mood? Tick.

As you can see, the Barceló Hotel ticks all the boxes if you’re looking for any of the above in an accommodation that doesn’t break the bank. Particularly if you hunt out some of the cracking online deals floating around the web at the mo.

Do: Come here with your girlfriend and enjoy sleek, modern luxury for a weekend getaway.

Don’t: Come with your mates looking to meet people and party.

Location-wise, cynics would argue that the Raval is dangerous and seedier than other parts of the city. But, we think that the Raval is up and coming, colourful and right where you want to be for easy connection to the rest of Barca. You are also nice and close to a great local bar scene.

The staff meet the usual requirements for friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back.

Come here if: All the Hostelworld options terrify you
Don’t come here if: You’re a solo traveller looking for mates
When? Hotel schedule… 365/24/7 Where? Rambla Raval 17, 08001 Barcelona
